321 Stainless Steel is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with a base of iron, chromium, nickel, and the addition of titanium,renowned for its exceptional high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance properties. The inclusion of titanium not only provides stabilization against chromium carbide precipitation but also enhances the alloy 321 resistance to intergranular corrosion.
Alloy 321 is titanium stabilized austenitic stainless steel plate with good general corrosion resistance. It has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 800 - 1500°F (427 - 816°C). The alloy resists oxidation to 1500°F (816°C) and has higher creep and stress rupture properties than alloys 304 and 304L. It also possesses good low temperature toughness.
In addition,321 stainless steel also have high temperature resistance. This 321 alloy is able to withstand temperatures up to 800°C (1472°F), which makes it an excellent choice for use in high-temperature environments such as furnace linings, jet engine parts, and exhaust systems.
