201 steel plate has good corrosion resistance and can be used in a wide range of applications, such as automotive parts, kitchen appliances, construction materials, and industrial equipment. It is also easy to weld and form, making it suitable for various fabrication processes.
In order to conserve nickel, austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese stainless steel known as 201 was created. A less expensive option to traditional Cr-Ni stainless steels like 301 and 304 is type 201. Manganese and nitrogen are added in place of nickel.
Compared with other stainless steel grades, 201 steel has some advantages. Stainless 201 has a lower cost but similar performance to 304 stainless steel. It is also more resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion than 304 stainless steel.
