Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels. The molybdenum gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.
ASTM A213 TP316 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel pipe suitable for corrosive or high-temperature service, or both, or for general applications.A213 TP316 pipe is designed for high-temperature service and can withstand temperatures up to 1500°F (815°C), making it ideal for use in applications where extreme temperatures are encountered. The steel 316 pipe is available in a range of sizes, from small diameters of 1/8" to larger diameters of 30", and can be supplied in both seamless and welded forms.
