430 stainless steel is a low-carbon ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties,designed with a superior chemical concentration of chromium, nickel and other elements, among which the chromium content is relatively high, about 16.00-18.00%, and small additions of nickel.430 material has corrosion resistance similar to some nickel-containing stainless steels in a mildly corrosive environment or when exposed to the atmosphere and has oxidation resistance at high temperatures.
Grade 430 is a ferritic, straight chromium, non-hardenable grade, combining good corrosion resistance and formability characteristics with useful mechanical properties. Its ability to resist nitric acid attack permits its use in specific chemical applications but automotive trim and appliance components represents its largest fields of application.
430 SS Plate offers excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance in an array of stress-induced environments. The highly tolerant 430 Grade Stainless Steel Sheet shows enhanced resistance to cracking by organic, acetic, nitric, and phosphoric acids.
