409 stainless steel is a chromium, titanium stabilized ferritic stainless steel that commonly used in machinery, construction and other projects.The presence of austenite grains are greatly improved its mechanical properties.Due to the addition of many alloying elements, as Mn,Ti,the strength and hardness are also greatly improved.409 stainless contains 11% chromium which is the minimum amount for the formation of the passive surface film which gives stainless steels their corrosion resistance.
Compared with other high-alloy stainless steels, such as 304 or 316, 409 steel has a lower cost and is an economical choice.It has high strength; it is even good in yield and tensile strength that makes it ready to be used in heavy industrial products.
