Description

316L stainless steel is a low-carbon type of 316 stainless steel. Its chemical composition is basically the same as 316 stainless steel, but molybdenum is added to improve its corrosion resistance. Its corrosion resistance is superior to other stainless steels, especially in environments with chloride ions.

The addition of molybdenum also improves general corrosion and chloride pitting resistance. It also provides higher creep, stress-to-rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperatures.

316/316L stainless steel plates exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in corrosive environments containing chlorides. This makes them suitable for use in marine applications and chemical processing.
