304H stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel material with a higher carbon content, which belongs to a variant of the 304 series of stainless steel.The "H" in 304H stands for "High" carbon content. 304H must contain not less than 0.04%, nor more than 0.10%.It is similar to 304 stainless steel in chemical composition and performance, but due to its higher carbon content, 304H stainless steel plate exhibits stronger creep resistance and higher strength in high temperature environments, so it is widely used in equipment and components that need to work under high temperature conditions.
Grade 304 stainless steel is the most commonly used austenitic stainless steel grade. Its well-balanced blend of steel, chromium (≥ 18%), and nickel (≥ 8%) gives this alloy exceptional strength, toughness, and durability.Grade 304H is a high-carbon version of regular Grade 304 (between 0.04 and 0.1% percent). The higher carbon content increases the 304h stainless strength in elevated temperatures, which makes it suitable for applications that require higher temperatures and corrosion resistance.In addition,grade 304H offers a higher tolerance for extreme thermal conditions.
