201 stainless steel is a chromium-nickel-manganese alloy that contains higher amounts of manganese and nitrogen compared to other steels. SS201 material is often used in place of 304 stainless steel for applications that need less corrosion resistance but more significant strength.Stainless 201 has a lower cost but similar performance to 304 stainless steel. It is also more resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion than 304 stainless steel.
