Description

AISI 303 is an austenitic stainless steel developed for applications requiring extensive machining operations. 303 stainless steel mainly include about 17-19% chromium, 8-10% nickel and 0.15% sulfur. The addition of sulfur helps improve its processing performance.303 stainless has a sulfur addition which assists in breaking up turnings while reducing drag on the cutting tool when compared to the machining characteristics of the conventional 18-8 stainless steels.

In addition,303 stainless steel plates perform well in general corrosive environments, but may not be as good as other stainless steel plates in some environments containing chlorides.
