303 stainless steel is a type of austenitic stainless steel, specifically designed for enhanced machinability. It is the most readily machinable of all types of austenitic stainless steel,due to the presence of sulfur and selenium,significantly improve its machinability, making it easier to cut and shape into required forms.
303 stainless steel sheet is available in a flat, rectangular form,commonly used in applications requiring moderate corrosion resistance and excellent workability.Although it offers lower corrosion resistance compared to other stainless steel grades as 304 and 316, 303 is still highly resistant to rust and oxidation in mildly corrosive environments.

303 stainless plate have different surface finishes, such as 2B (cold-rolled, annealed, and pickled), NO.1 (hot-rolled, annealed, and pickled), BA (bright annealed), among others.

- No.1: Hot rolled, annealed, and pickled
- No.2B: Cold-rolled, annealed, and pickled with a bright finish
- No.4: Polished with a 150-180 grit finish
- Hairline: Polished with a 240 grit finish
- BA: Bright annealed and polished
