A213 316 stainless steel is a standard molybdenum-containing grade which is second in importance to 304 in austenitic stainless steel. Unique content molybdenum gives 316 a better corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride environments, where it has higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.The higher percentage of nickel and lower percentage of carbon compared to TP304 Stainless Steel, making 316 steel more resistant to corrosion and scaling. It has excellent formability and welding characteristics. It can be easily brake or roll formed into various parts for use in industrial, architectural and transportation fields. In addition, 316 grade stainless steel possesses exceptional welding properties. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections.
