304L stainless steel is a low-carbon grade of 304 stainless steel and belongs to the 300 series austenitic stainless steel. 304L stainless steel has excellent rust resistance, which makes it an ideal choice in many applications.
The anti-rust properties of 304L Stainless are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
- Corrosion resistance: 304L stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel and contains alloying elements such as chromium and nickel, which gives it excellent corrosion resistance. It performs particularly well under common atmospheric conditions, such as indoor use or mildly corrosive environments.
- Resistance to intergranular corrosion: Due to the low carbon content of 304L, it is not prone to intergranular corrosion during the welding process. This makes it more reliable in high temperature welding applications, reducing the risk of corrosion in the weld area.
- Oxidation resistance: The main components of stainless steel are iron, chromium and nickel. The presence of chromium makes it have good oxidation resistance,helps keep surfaces clean and rust-free in high temperature and oxygen environments.
