201 stainless steel plate is a low hardenability carburizing steel, mainly used in the manufacture of decorative pipes, industrial pipes and some shallow drawn products. 201 stainless steel sheet has a certain acid resistance, alkali resistance, high density, polishing without bubbles, no pinholes and other characteristics.
Compared with other grades of stainless steel,201 stainless steel has the following advantages
- Corrosion resistance: 201 stainless steel contains about 1.5% nickel and 18% chromium, which makes grade 201 excellent in oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, especially in some neutral media and weak acid and alkali environments. However, in some harsh environments, such as high concentration of oxidizing acid, reducing acid, high temperature and high pressure water vapor, 201 stainless steel may not be as good as 304 stainless steel.
- Strength and hardness: 201 steel is harder than 304 stainless steel, but its ductility is poor, which also means that 201 stainless steel is less plastic and is not suitable for some applications that require deformation or bending.
- Appearance: 304 stainless steel has a bright, shiny surface and is often used in decorative applications that require a high degree of aesthetics. While 201 has a darker, more matte surface, it is usually used in applications where appearance is not important.
