309 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel, specialized alloy designed to excel in high-temperature environments.Comprising a unique composition of iron, chromium, and nickel, with the addition of manganese and silicon, 309 stainless steel exhibits remarkable resistance to oxidation and corrosion at elevated temperatures.This type 309 stainless steel is particularly favored in applications where exposure to extreme heat, aggressive atmospheres, and thermal cycling is commonplace.

309 is a highly alloyed stainless steel used for its excellent oxidation resistance, high temperature strength and creep resistance. The lower nickel content of 309 improves resistance to sulfur attack at high temperatures. It is tough and ductile, and can be readily fabricated and machined.
