301 stainless steel is a type of high-strength, low-magnetic, and excellent corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steel that has the same 18% chromium and 8% nickel composition as 304 stainless steel. However, 301 steel has a higher carbon content, which makes it more suitable for applications that require stronger and more ductile material. 301 stainless steel has high strength, good deformation ability, good heat resistance, good balance between strength and toughness, and moderate hardness.
With a base of iron, the 301 ss sheet contains chromium for corrosion resistance, nickel for stabilization of the austenitic structure, and controlled carbon content to enhance its mechanical characteristics.The manganese content further contributes to strength and formability. This specific composition makes 301 Stainless Steel Sheet an ideal choice for applications where robust performance in challenging environments is paramount.
This type 301 stainless steel can be cold-rolled and hardened to increase its strength and durability, and it's available in different tempers,namely: 1/4 hard, 1/2 hard, and full hard.
