304 stainless steel is an austenitic alloy that contains between 18-20% chromium and 8-10.5% nickel.304 steel also contains small amounts of carbon and manganese, with the remainder of the alloy made up of iron. The combination of these elements results in a material that is highly corrosion-resistant and can withstand high temperatures without losing its structural integrity.

The addition of nickel to the alloy 304 further enhances its corrosion resistance and toughness, making it well-suited for even the most demanding high-temperature and high-pressure applications.The addition of chromium in 304 stainless plate also forms a passivation layer on its surface, preventing further corrosion.
