2507 stainless steel is a ferrite-austenite super duplex stainless steel, mainly composed of austenite and ferrite, and the ratio of these two phases is adjusted by the addition of alloying elements and low carbon content. 2507 plate contains high chromium, nickel, and molybdenum,makes it excellent in resistance to pitting, crevice and uniform corrosion.In addition,Due to its duplex microstructure, 2507 stainless steel has excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficient.
With 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel,2507 stainless steel plate is designed for demanding applications which require exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical process, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. The high nickel content is responsible for the 2507 alloys ability to withstand elevated temperatures, excellent resistance to corrosion along with its improved impact strength. 2507 plate has excellent resistant to brine solutions as well as seawater makes it a well suited addition for marine environments.

Duplex Stainless Steel Feature
A number of the technical shortcomings of standard stainless steels on the market (namely austenitic and ferritic) were overcome with the creation of duplex stainless steel. Both traditional steels have low yield strength, ferritic steels have poor low temperature toughness, and austenitic steels have a very low resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
- Higher yield strength which is around twice that of type 304 austenitic stainless steel
- Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in high stress and high temperature environments, which is unmatched by austenitic stainless steel.
