Description

TP 316 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains chromium, nickel, and molybdenum,which enhances the 316 alloy ability to withstand corrosive environments and harsh conditions. Chromium, at 16-18%, provides excellent resistance to both oxidation and corrosion. Nickel, at 10-14%, also contributes to corrosion resistance, as well as enhancing the alloy's ductility and toughness. Molybdenum, at 2-3%, provides further corrosion resistance and strength.

The most advantages of 316 steel is its resistance to chloride environments. Chlorides are highly corrosive and can cause pitting and crevice corrosion in many metals. While the unique composition of Type 316 makes it highly resistant to this type of corrosion, making it an ideal material for marine applications.In addition,Type 316 performs well in acidic and alkaline environments, making it suitable in various chemical industries.
