Composed of 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum,316 stainless steel is a type of austenitic chromium-nickel molybdenum stainless steel,known for excellent corrosion resistance and high-strength properties. Grade 316 steel is capable of withstanding even the harshest environments, particularly those that contain chloride ions.
The combination of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel elements in 316 stainless provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking,which makes it highly reliable in applications that require resistance to corrosive environments.
SUS 316 pipes are also highly resistant to high-temperature environments. They can withstand temperatures of up to 1000°C and are commonly used in high-temperature applications, such as furnaces, heaters, and heat exchangers.
