ASTM A269 is a standard specification from the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) that covers seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubing for general corrosion-resisting and low- or high-temperature service.
Type 304 stainless steel is a commonly used austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance, versatility, and ease of fabrication. The typical chemical composition of ASTM A269 TP 304 stainless steel includes a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Other elements, such as manganese, silicon, and carbon, are also present within specified limits.
