Grade 316 is a standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels.It contains a higher percentage of nickel and lower percentage of carbon compared to TP304 Stainless Steel, making it more resistant to corrosion and scaling.The addition of molybdenum also gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.
A213 stainless steel 316 pipe is designed for high-temperature service and can withstand temperatures up to 1500°F (815°C), making it ideal for use in applications where extreme temperatures are encountered.
