316 Stainless Steel Seamless is (SMLS) is pipe is formed by drawing a solid billet over a piercing rod to create the hollow shell. As the manufacturing process does not include any welding, Seamless Pipes are perceived to be stronger and more reliable.
Grade 316 is a standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels. 316 stainless steel has a higher nickel content than 304 stainless steel, combined with molybdenum, it can better resist corrosive chemicals, corrosive liquids, oil and gas corrosion, and can withstand pressure and high temperature.The molybdenum also gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.

The steel 316 pipe is available in a range of sizes, from small diameters of 1/8" to larger diameters of 30", and can be supplied in both seamless and welded forms.
