Material 304 Stainless Steel
Grade 304 is the standard "18/8" stainless steel, with a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, combined with a maximum of 0.08% carbon, belongs to 300 series austenitic stainless steel,is the most versatile and most widely used stainless steel.
With a density of 7.93g/cm³,SS 304 has excellent corrosion resistance and has a high ease of fabrication, outstanding formability, widely used in industry and furniture decoration industry.
Stainless Type 304
- Grade 304L is the low carbon version of 304, does not require post-weld annealing and is therefore extensively used in heavy gauge components (over about 6mm).
- Grade 304H with its higher carbon content, is used in applications at elevated temperatures.
The austenitic structure also gives these grades excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures.
