What is Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel, also known as stainless acid-resistant steel and water-copper iron; in metallurgy, refers to the state that is passive, corrosion-resistant, rust-free, and contains high chromium ( (usually 12%~30%) alloy steel usually contains nickel, molybdenum, vanadium, manganese, tungsten and other elements; and the most important metal element that determines the rust-proofing ability of stainless steel is chromium. Internationally defined by weight, stainless steel is an alloy steel with a minimum chromium content of 10.5wt% and a maximum carbon content of 1.2wt%, or an "iron alloy" with a chromium content exceeding 10%.
In addition to chromium, stainless steel may contain other elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and manganese, which further enhance its properties. These alloying elements contribute to the stainless material's resistance to corrosion, heat, and wear, as well as its strength and formability.
