Description

Galvanised steel plates are coated with a layer of zinc on the surface of ordinary steel to enhance its corrosion resistance.There are two galvanising processes method:hot dip galvanising and electro galvanising.

In hot dip galvanising, the steel sheet is immersed in a molten zinc solution to form a dense zinc layer that effectively prevents the steel from oxidising. Electro-galvanising provides a smooth and uniform coating by attaching zinc to the surface of the steel sheet through an electrolytic process.

The zinc layer can prevent the base steel from directly contacting with moisture and oxygen in the air, and also protect the steel from corrosion through the principle of 'sacrificial protection' when the zinc coating breaks down,making it suitable for use in humid, salt-sprayed environments, and is widely used in coastal areas and industrial applications.
